This workshop program is part of a nationwide funding program for gene and cell therapy and is organized by Johannes Gutenberg-Universität, Universitätsmedizin and TechnologieZentrum GmbH
in cooperation with the Charité in Berlin and the TU München.
During this entrepreneurship workshop program, you can further develop your research into a possible business idea or continue working on an existing concrete idea. You have the opportunity to (further) develop your entrepreneurship skills and are supported by excellent mentors and speakers.
A total of 6 practice-oriented face-to-face workshops (6 hours each) will take place once a month from January to June 2024. The individual topics can be found below. At the end of June, there will be a big final event in Mainz with all partner institutions and participants.
Where? Directly at Mainz main station: Universitätsmedizin Station West, Binger Straße 14-16, Mainz.
Target group: Postdocs, doctoral students and Master-students from the fields of medicine, life sciences, biotechnology, bioinformatics and materials science who already have a concrete business idea or would like to explore the topic of entrepreneurship in greater depth.
The workshops are also open to (junior) scientists from external institutions.
Workshop language: German and English (depending on the requirements and knowledge of the participants)

Workshop 2 // February 22, 2024: Value proposotions & Business Model Canvas; IP protection & management (operational & strategic)
Workshop 3 // March 21, 2024: Analyze your market; create your business model; build your business case
Workshop 4 // April 23, 2024: Regulation; develop your product/solution; go-to-market: understand and win customers
Workshop 5 // May 14, 2024: Legal foundations for start-ups; team management; project management; establish and manage partnerships
Workshop 6 // Juni 11, 2024: Financing and funding; Investor discussions & negotiations; exit options and strategic value
