FORTHEM is an Alliance of European universities composed of nine multidisciplinary public research universities with a strong regional anchoring in Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Romania, and Spain. The FORTHEM Alliance brings together a new generation of creative Europeans able to cooperate across languages, borders, and disciplines to address the societal challenges and skills shortages Europe faces.
This call for funding is part of a series of targeted activities to empower and support postdoctoral researchers from FORTHEM partner universities to strengthen their networks with non-academic partners and to set up their own future research projects together with them. As part of the FORTHEM Academy for Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs), and based on the aim to design attractive training and career development actions for ESRs, FORTHEM is funding secondments for postdoctoral researchers, who wish to go to a foreign country and to work with a non-academic partner for up to three months. The maximum co-funding contribution from FORTHEM will be 3000 € (meant to mainly cover travel costs, accommodation, and a daily allowance). Please be aware, if you spend more than the 3000 €, FORTHEM will not cover the extra costs, if will you spend less, we may consider not to transfer the full amount of the award. So try to calculate the costs as accurately as possible

The deadline for submission will be November 15, 2024. Successful applicants will be informed by the end of January 2025.
Evaluation:
Proposals will be selected in a competitive process. The evaluation board will include members of all FORTHEM partner universities and results will be confirmed by the FORTHEM Mission Board for Research, Innovation and Transfer.
